  1. Frequent Cleaning

Windows are part of the house that contacts frequently with sunrays, morning dews, dust, and rain. Therefore, you have to clean windows frequently to remove the dust and water spots. Also, cleaning window glasses regularly can keep your glass shiny.

Furthermore, cleaning windows frequently is a good action if your house is built with premium and expensive materials like granite and marble. Clean and shiny window glasses mean that they have a good appearance. So, it can help to keep the aesthetics and luxuries of your house.

  1. Use The Right Tools

To clean your windows without damage, you should clean window glasses with proper tools. To clean windows in the lower part of the house, you can use a soft towel. Just spray or apply the cleaning liquid into your towel and wipe it gently. Let the windows dry by themselves.

If you find stain or dirt that sticks strong enough in your windows, keep using a soft towel and use more cleaning liquid then wipe the glass faster. Don’t use a towel with harsh surfaces because it can damage and scratch the glass

Some house is designed taller and there are some windows in the higher part of it. For windows in the higher part of the house, you can use a squeegee or T-bar along with its mop with an extension pole to help you reach the window.

  1. Avoid Abrasives

When finding dirt or spots that attach firmly to the glass of windows, people often use abrasives to remove them and make window glasses look clear and shiny. Unfortunately, using abrasive is not a good step to clean the windows.

If you want to clean window glass, keep in mind that you also have a responsibility to take care of it. Using harsh media like abrasives and inappropriate cleaning liquid for a longer time can damage your window glasses, make them scratched, and look worse than before.

When you a stubborn dirt or spots caused by animal excrement or water splash, it will be better if you clean it with white distilled vinegar that is diluted in water with a 1:1 ratio. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray it to the dirty area then wipe it with a soft towel or fiber cloth.

  1. Clear Frame and Sills

Not only the glasses, frame, and sill of the windows should not be skipped. These parts of windows also can be dusted and smudged, especially for wooden frames and sill. Therefore, you need to clean it together with the glass.

If you have a wooden sill and frame, it is better to spray the cleaner mixture in the cloth than spray it directly. Too much contact with water will make your wooden sill and frame warped and also damage the paint.

There are some techniques you can use that support the cleanliness and protection of your window. Here are the explanations:

When you still wipe the topside of your window, the liquid can flow along the glass and help you to give an early streak to the bottomside of the glass. After finishing the topside, you can continue to wipe the liquid that lay on the bottom side of the glass.

You can reconsider running these tips if you have a window with a wooden frame. The cleaning liquid that flows down can enter the pores of your frame. For a longer time, this condition can affect the wooden frame. Make its paint can be easily flaked off and weathered faster.

  1. Apply Cleaner Sparingly

Besides what tools and ways to streak you use, don’t skip to pay attention to the amount of cleaning liquid. It would be better if you spray or apply it for a few sprays only because chemical compounds contained in cleaning liquid can damage the glasses or even the frame.

To avoid direct contact with cleaning liquid and window glasses, you can spray or apply it first on the fiber cloth or soft towel you used. This is the safest step you can take for your window glasses.

  1. Use Horizontal and Vertical Strokes

There is a special treatment to clean the window either using fiber cloth or a T-bar and mop. You should pay attention to the direction you stroke to the window glass. After the circular motion, you can continue by making horizontal and vertical strokes to ensure you clean the glass completely.

Nevertheless, these tips do not guarantee that your window is 100% clean. There is a possibility for some residues that are left in the corner of your windows. If you need to clean it, you can use cotton buds. Cotton buds can reach narrow spaces in the corner and help you clean the window completely.
